The presence of this machine on my desk is the best thing about getting to work.I drink a lot of tea. The hot water at my work comes from one of those red-handled little hot water taps protruding from the front of a coffee machine - it tastes a little funny (I drink my tea black so I taste the water) and just isn't hot enough for making proper black tea. My intention was to buy a kettle and a USB plate to keep my cup of tea warm . . . then I found this. Hallelujah! The cordless kettle is what you'd expect (it boils water), the little teapot pours beautifully without spills and that magical little hot plate keeps the tea in the kettle PERFECTLY hot! I can return after an hour and my tea is so hot you wouldn't know it wasn't poured from the kettle seconds earlier. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. This is so much better than the USB warmer I intended to buy would have done, I'm sure. Plus, I'm going through my precious Irish tea much slower because, with this machine, I drink every drop I brew instead of throwing out a lot of cold tea. Aside from needing to turn off the hot plate at the end of the day, the only thing that would make this machine better would be if it brewed my tea on command and poured itself.Before buying this machine I looked at numerous tea machines: the triniTea (BPA plastic, ugh!), Sanyo SAC-MST6 Coffee/Tea Maker and the zarafina. I thought I'd like a "teaWaker," but I don't find myself wishing for an alarm-clock triggered brew. Besides, even as a kid with a glass on my bedside table I thought leaving water out overnight makes it taste a little stale.

Every one in our family is tea drinker & this is a great product . Just wish the tea pot was a better quality, like Pyrex.

We were initially delighted with this purchase and particularly with the concept of keeping our tea warm. However, after only three months of use, the kettle no longer switches off properly and is leaking around the handle. We contacted the company handling warranty claims as the product has a three-year warranty. The three-year warranty is not worth much as we have been informed the product has been discontinued and therefore the kettle cannot be replaced. Great concept, but it's not working in practice.

I loved this product. For the first year, it was a gem. Then, suddenly, I started finding little white flecks in the water boiled in the kettle. Then more little white flecks. I realized the paint was coming off of the gasket seal at the bottom of the kettle. I called Russell Hobbs, thinking I had a defective set, and they told me to cut off the end of the plug and send it to them and they replaced the entire set. Should have been great. Until about a year later. Again, white flecks in the kettle, and paint coming off of the gasket. I've thought about what might be making this happen, and can't come up with an explanation. I hate to call them again, but there's definitely a defect there.

This is one of the best investments I've made! It's so convenient and wonderful to use! Haven't had a problem with it and hope to keep it for a long time to come! No yucky plastic taste due to the glass carafe and the water boils in the kettle in no time! Also no yucky plastic taste in the kettle either! I highly suggest purchasing this product!

Works great! Water comes to a boil quickly & auto shutoff. So nice not having to listen to a loud whistling noise first thing in the morning. Warmer tray is convenient especially when having company over. Easy to clean. Great investment!

This set is perfect in every way...fast boiling water to pour into carafe and then the kettle turns off, so no overheating. The carafe is large enough for several cups of yummy tea and the tray keeps this heated for as long as you want. Like I said...PERFECT!

My wife bought this set for us for christmas and we have enjoyed it since. The only thing is that the plastic on the sieve is very thin and in the process of tapping the sieve on the sink to get out the old tea leaves, pieces of the sieve have broken off.
