Not 100% Happy, But Still an Excellent Computer
Setup was different, but not difficult. The computer starts up fast and the facial recognition is outstanding. From power on, I am ready to go in 15 seconds.I have had a problem registering the computer with HP. HP keeps telling me that the product number is invalid, even though the number I have used is the same number their software detects and the number I found in the BIOS and on the box. HP has several different ways to enter the registration process and at least two different processes. I have used both and one said the process was successful and they would send me a confirmation email. I never received the email, but I did get a screen copy of the success message. Last night a HP notification popped up offering to do a warranty check, and it told me the warranty expires February 4, 2025. That is awfully soon for a computer purchased November 15, 2024.Beyond this, the computer is exactly as represented. The screen is vivid, and I was immediately impressed. I do use an external monitor as my main screen. The monitor has a higher resolution than the laptop's screen, but so far, the computer will not allow me to use the monitor at that higher resolution. My prior, 3-year-old HP laptop did support the higher resolution. I am sure I can resolve this issue if I can ever find a way to speak to a live person at HP, but I just don't have time for that right now.Overall, I am a happy camper.

Constantly Having Glitches!
I contacted HP support the day I received this laptop because it was not connecting with my Smart television or my computer monitor through both HDMI or WiFi. After having to pay HP $50.00 for technical support the representative explained to me that the Intel Arc Graphics card is not compatible with Windows 11 Pro. She stated that, “You will continue to experience issues unless you change the operating system”. She reported that she could help me with the issues I was having, however I would be unable to return the laptop to the seller if she was to assist me with the glitches I was already having after a day of having the product. I attempted to contact the seller on two separate occasions to resolve the issues I was facing due to this being such an expensive product. On both occasions the seller provided me generic and simplistic answers that did not assist me at all. I attempted to try and keep the laptop, but I regretfully had to return it because it never connected with any type of external device, repeatedly overheated, added devices would randomly lose connection, and apps or games were constantly freezing to which I had to completely reboot the laptop. I still am extremely disappointed that the seller sells this product in a way that HP reported should not be sold.

I'm Very Pleased with this HP Laptop Purchase ! 😊
Why did you pick this product vs others?:The internal memory size, updated Intel processor, and Terabytes of SSD storage are what I was looking for in a new laptop. Seamless integration between the laptop and my HP G5 docking station added more ports and options for future expansion. 😎Functionality:Win11 startup time is exceptional. The 17" touch screen is sharp & responsive. The backlit keyboard feels good to the touch. I use this with an external Verbatim 27" monitor which it drives simultaneously with the internal 17" display with no issues.Laptop quality:A month in, and no complaints as to the quality of the laptop.Ease of setup:Easy to do the initial setup, however the Win11 default to put the desktop in the cloud takes a little getting use to. Also, ensure you do multiple Windows Updates as the delivered version of Win11 Pro may not be up to date with current changes from Microsoft. Migrating data and apps from the legacy HP Pavilion HPE to this laptop was done via a local cloud drive and uninstall \ reinstall of apps whose activation is governed by License Keys.Value for money:Well worth the price, as I see this as my primary PC for at least the next 10 years. This laptop is replacing a HP Pavilion HPE Tower PC (2TB HD \ 16 GB RAM \ USB 3.0) that has run Win7 through Win10 Home starting in 2009 though the end of 2025.

This Laptop Rocks
I really am Enjoying this laptop. I tend to keep my tech for many years; so I try to get devices that check most of my built-up needs and wants at a reasonable cost. This laptop definitely steps up and checks almost every box I had for a new laptop when the fan when out on my MS Surface. I wanted a laptop that was 17 inch; had a backlit keyboard; was very fast; had a lot of memory; was very responsive; easy, but secure log-in; keys that felt good while typing; had a number pad; good speakers; was quite versatile for my business and personal needs; had a nice amount of ports and would work well for many years. This HP Envy is so far taking care of all of those wants and needs plus so much more.I was thoroughly Impressed and how Easy it was to set this laptop up. Almost everything from the MS surface transferred over with ease. My only complaint is that after an extremely short time, the brightness kept fading. It was driving me bonkers as that the constant adjusting of light was aggravating to my eyes/ vision. I changed every setting I could think of and it was still happening. I finally found 1 article that addressed this and the setting was under some weird placement (can't remember where at the moment). Once that was rectified, I was set to go and have been pretty Satisfied since.
