Very happy this worked to update my old ball head to an arca mount. The size of the clamp and baseplate works perfect for the bayonet mount on my ~5lb spotting scope ; may be long for smaller optics. Pleasantly surprised with the clamp weight and how sturdy it feels. The screw knob is as wide as the clamp (~2") which makes it easy to find without looking and the knurls make it easy to tension. The knob has a bubble level. The baseplate is holed and slotted such that I can't imagine you can't position it as desired.* clamp is 4 11/16" (120mm) x 1 15/16" (48mm)* 3/8" (qty 3) holes in clamp with 3/8 to 1/4 adapter included* did NOT include 3/8" stud to connect with ball head -- reused stud from old clampNormally I'm a Really Right Stuff snob but I'm hard pressed to find anything negative to say about this clamp. I'd have no problem putting my 400mm lens with a camera body on this.

I use this plate on a large format (4"x5") film camera and it is sturdy enough and large enough for this purose!Glad I bought it.

Attached to my Proaim motorized az-el. Need to check it out in the field, but seems to be pretty solid.

It is well made and holds my DSLR with lens very well.It's sturdy and had a great lock.Fits well within any Vixen Dovetail mount and except all of my Arca-Swiss plates. You can swap out cameras or even a cell phone mount quickly.The extended plates lengths included allows me to mount camera with larger lens and offset it for balance.I use it primarily on my guide scope vixen mount on my telescope but it also fits my EQ tripods WITH Vixen Dovetails.

My only complaint is that the hole for the screw isn’t big enough to put a 3/8” head through as well as 1/4-20. So unfortunately I am unable to use for video work. Typically with a long plate like this, you want 2 points of connection to prevent spinning. As I couldn’t fit a 3/8” it was unfortunately not for me. If you don’t need this feature, i would recommend as this is made well and priced well.

This Arca-Swiss clamp and plate are well made and they work as expected. I can see nothing at all wrong with them. They work with the other clamps and places I own. This is the first wide clamp I purchased and I like it.

The quick release fit my arch swiss ball head which was unusable with a broken release. I changed to this uit and now have my ball head working again.

Had to return as the thumbscrew doesn’t allow flat installation and cannot be turned on a larger tripod head.
