Yes, but it’s worth the money. I hike in the winter with sealskinz and tennis shoes and my feet stay dry and warm.

Q: How would these fair in warm-hot weather? Will be walking almost knee deep water in the Everglades and wonder if these would work

They work well until water gets above the actual sock. Then the seal may or may not be enough to keep water out. As for the temperature i have done hikes in them in warm swampy climates and didnt have an issue
