Plastic Z-mount tilt head tripod
Unlike other brands and models, this design is made out of plastic. While that brings the price lower, it also means that the adjustment screws that control the tension / stiffness will likely lose bite over time. When this happens, completely remove the screw, put in some plastic shavings or some strands of wire from an electrical cord to give the screw something to bite again. Should be fine for occasional use, but if you plan to use something like this a lot, get a metal one instead. This is really useful for macro photography on a table-top (where you can slide the rig back and forth to get things in focus). Also useful as a travel tripod - where you can brace the rig against a wall, railing, table, or chair to stabilize the images / video.

Use the full metal version
They make this in a full metal version. I would highly recommend it if you’re going to use it frequently. I had originally tried to purchase this from enchanted earth, however I never got the product and ended up getting a copy from a pawnshop.Be very careful with the threaded inserts, As this is a plastic body and just a little bit too much torque can easily strip the set collars out of the plastic. Also with it being plastic, the screws that are used what ultimately end up stripping the plastic threads in the pivotal sections. This you unfortunately can’t avoid. For light weight setups or for something your going to use in a destructive environment this is pretty good tool (The price is fairly tailored to being more on the disposal side) However again if you want something that you’re going to use overtime then I would suggest investing in the full metal version.

Allen Wrench Needed
Comes with an allen wrench to tighten it when you get your camera where you want it. However, it wont stay in place until it is tightened manually, then you have to loosen it to move it to the next position, that again, wont stay until you tighten it with an allen wrench. If you like loose parts (meaning the allen wrench) and fidgeting with every move of your shot, then it's perfect.
